Dolomites Unesco Mondeval Trekking

The itinerary is a 4-day walk starting from theFalzarego Pass that leads to cross the central southern part of theDolomites , sneaking between peaks of undisputed fame and beauty such as theTofana di Rozes, the Cinque Torri, the Pelmo and the Civetta.

Alongside the geological-landscape emergencies, the leitmotif of all the stages of the itinerary, you will visit numerous sites of natural and historical interest.

You will be amazed by the beauty of Val Travenanzes, Lake Federa, the Mesolithic site of Mondeval, Mount Pelmo.

Our guide Luca will be able to guide you with mastery along this trekking route that cuts through the Dolomites along anorth-south direction that from Passo Falzarego passes through the Cinque Torri, Lake Federa, Forcella Ambrizzola.

The total length of the route is 56 km, with a maximum peak of 14 km in the second stage.

Program

DAY 1 Falzarego Pass

Meeting at 09.00 at the Passo Falzarego parking lot with our Guide Luca.Together you will leave for this beautiful adventure in the Belluno Dolomites.Mountain groups: Lagazuoi, Val Travenanzes, Tofana di Rozes.You will recover your energy with a dinner based on local products and an overnight stay in a refuge in the high mountains at 2,561 meters.

DAY 2 Croda da Lago

After a hearty breakfast we set off for a wonderful day.The Pelmo is the first of the nine Dolomite groups to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.Mountain groups: Tofana di Rozes, Cinque Torri, Croda da Lago, Lake Federa.Refreshment points: Di Bona Refuge, 5 Torri Refuge.Throughout the journey, the view will be spectacular.The day will end with dinner and overnight stay in the refuge.

DAY 3 Mondeval

After breakfast we leave for a new wonderful day in the Dolomites with Luca.Mountain groups: Plateau of Mondeval, Mesolithic site of Mondeval, Monte Pelmo.

Height difference downhill: 550 mt

DAY 4 Mount Pelmo

The Pelmo and La Croda da Lago are the first of the nine Dolomite groups to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.Today we leave for the last trekking day in our Dolomites.You will go around Monte Pelmo.From ageological point of view , almost 100 million years of history are meticulously described among its rocks.Furthermore, fossil dinosaur footprints have been found at the base of the Pelmetto and the Lastoi di Formin, while an intact skeleton of a Mesolithic hunter was found at the Mondeval site.You will arrive around lunchtime in Zoppè di Cadore, where Graziana will wait for the groupat Antica Locanda Al Pelmo.After lunch you will leave with the shuttle to the Falzarego Pass where your adventure began!

Where will you sleep

Giussani Ref. 2561 mt Obviously it is never a 5 star hotel, but we have a 5 star view and atmosphere!The breakfasts and dinners in the shelters are very good and included.You will sleep in multi-person rooms that offer surprisingly comfortable accommodation surrounded by a special atmosphere.They are generally located in remote places at high altitudes.From their terraces you can admire the Dolomites that glow red at dawn and turn pink at sunset.
