THE "MAGNIFICA REGOLA" SELVA DI CADORE AND PESCUL
Built in the second post-war period, the Cason de le vedele is the most recent of the “casere”, property of the “Regoliere". As can be seen from the name, this structure was used as a shelter for younger cattle who were kept separately from the original herd of dairy cows (over two hundred and fifty heads) that grazed the upstream areas of S. Fosca and Pescul. Currently, most of the areas bordering the structure have been invaded by the forest and few are still suitable for grazing. However, thanks to the continuous and careful maintenance by the inhabitants of Selva di Cadore, the "casera" has not been lost in degradation and currently relives as a place for outings.
